Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in a California Vehicle Accident

The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in the state of California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The celebrated industry figure died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a motorway in LA on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his legacy," an official with Electronic Arts stated.
