English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.

The three finalists have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the annual sports awards show on the 18th of December.

The ceremony will be aired from 19:00 GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
