Toronto Blue Jays Secure World Series Matchup Versus the Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

George Springer previously helped the Astros securing the championship in the 2017 season.

Canada's MLB team reached their initial Fall Classic following 1993 by beating the Mariners in the seventh seventh game of the AL Championship Series.

Down 3-1, the star outfielder hit a three-run blast in the seventh, propelling the Toronto squad in Major League Baseball to a 4-3 triumph in the series. They will now face the defending champions, holders of the current crown, in the upcoming Fall Classic.

"I'm just so happy for this squad, the city, Canada," said Springer, an integral part of the Astros team that won the 2017 championship. "What an amazing experience."

George Springer has now hit twenty-three post-season home runs, placing him third all-time trailing only Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (27).

"It's hard to imagine anyone else on planet Earth that I'd prefer in that moment except for George Springer with his October magic," said manager John Schneider.

Seattle, who had led the early in the series, continue to be the only MLB franchise that has never reached in a championship series.

Wilson commented "there's no question that it's painful" following his team's loss at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but applauded their performance in the campaign.

"They're an exceptional squad. It's a shame that we finished on the unsuccessful side of the series," he added.

Toronto won the championship on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and 1993, and are set to host the Los Angeles in game one on Friday.
