Passionate fans of Ariana Grande are demanding that a man who jumped a fence and grabbed the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A widely shared footage reveals the Australian man bypassing media personnel and lunging at Grande while the performers proceeded down a yellow carpet accompanied by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately pulled the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the gathering by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being arrested", though court documents indicated that he was due to be present on the next day. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.

Record of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram profile includes videos of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last year.

"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is obviously a punishable act," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Followers Express Concern Over the Star's Safety

Several supporters criticized Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented a further message on Instagram.

Some supporters also questioned guards at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals called for digital services to remove Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In videos circulating online, Grande looked startled when she was grabbed by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

Fans at Wicked premiere
Many of Singapore supporters had queued up to meet the actors of Wicked

Hundreds of fans had congregated in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore venue, including a number who had queued for as long as eight hours before it commenced.

The motion picture, to be released on November 21, is the sequel of a two-part interpretation of the acclaimed stage production Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected bond between two distinct characters.

The musical itself is a derivative of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was adorned in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful film of last year in the UK, and received a dozen Academy Award nods, securing two for outstanding attire and set decoration.
