Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions
Arsenal's 10-game victorious run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global break, however can the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, readers and a range of guests.
In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Football and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I won't push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was still that team's coach.
So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.
My son advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.
They have not had great fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.
Fulham have have lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.
Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.
But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's home form, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
