Slot Insists He Is Secure and Retains The Club's Backing After PSV Eindhoven Humiliation
The Liverpool head coach acknowledged that it's expected for questions to be asked about his position following a further convincing defeat versus the Dutch champions.
Liverpool suffered their 9th defeat in twelve games, representing the team's worst streak after being demoted in 1953-54.
They were taken apart by the Dutch league champions on a tough night at their home ground.
“I'm confident, I'm fine, I have got plenty of support from above,” the coach stated.
“It's important to turn it around and earn three points of course but when you're working as a coach and struggling then it is normal that questions are asked.”
He continued, “I am OK with my position. This isn't the first time I’ve been in a difficult position but it's necessary that we changed our fortunes.”

Upon being questioned to elaborate on his dialogues with the club's leadership, the head coach revealed:
“There's regular dialogue. They are supportive to the team and for me and those talks happen but they don’t call me every single minute of the day to say they trust me.”
He added, “During our regular conversations we have I perceive the confidence. But I haven’t spoken to them after this defeat yet so let’s see.”
Recurring Problems and Player Response
Slot expressed regret over recurring weaknesses from his squad in their European defeat, specifically wasted chances and leaking goals.
Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was more forthright in his evaluation of the club’s predicament.
“I don’t have the answers. Honestly, I do not. I'm telling that to all,” the midfielder remarked.
