Manchester United Poised to Secure German Striker Lea Schüller away from Bayern Munich
The Women's Super League club are on the verge of sealing the deal for prolific Germany forward Lea Schüller in a permanent move from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side
The forward, with half a year remaining on her contract, has been a consistent goalscorer for both club and country. Having netted over 100 goals for the German giants and scored 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. Her arrival will be seen as a marquee signing for the WSL team.
Her exit from Munich was expected since she appeared to be holding back emotions while applauding the German club’s supporters following a victory over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
Reports in late December that the German women's top flight was losing one of its leading forwards. Per reports, all the paperwork for the transfer have now been completed.
Reliable Goal Threat to Strengthen United's Forward Line
The experienced striker's arrival should represent a significant boost to the team's attacking options. She has been highly reliable in front of goal in Germany’s top flight.
- Over seven straight seasons, including the last term, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the Golden Boot in 2021-22 season with 16 goals.

Securing the German international comes at a time when United seem to be building momentum.
