Head Made Contact to Duckett After Social Media Clip Criticism
Head and Duckett have been on rival teams in the past two Ashes contests.
Australian opener Travis Head stated that he sent a message to English fellow opener Ben Duckett following a social media clip surfaced appearing to show the player in a inebriated state before the MCG Test.
Reports indicated that members of the squad were consuming significant amounts of alcohol during a respite in the coastal resort of Noosa in the gap between the second and third Tests.
One unconfirmed video sparked greater attention on the squad and on Duckett personally.
"I have a good relationship with Ducky and contacted him to see if he was doing okay," stated Head.
"Everyone is still human. What you do in your private life is up to you.
"I understand we live a high profile life and some people are more high profile than others.
"In the end, it is a somewhat unfair but I don't believe there is any real issue."
Background of the Event
England's time in Noosa came after they had fallen 2-0 down in the Ashes series after losses in the first two Tests.
Several media outlets stated that some players were drinking for a significant portion of their time on the coastal break, in addition to on two earlier days in Brisbane.
Though they gave an improved performance in the following Test, they were defeated in Adelaide to concede the series to Australia.
Head's Viewpoint
Speaking after England's victory in the Melbourne Test, Head remarked: "I felt envious.
"Everyone has made a lot more out of it than what it should have been.
"We have done the same thing on past tours. I don't have an issue with it."
