Fresh Particulars Surface About the Finding of the Reiner Couple's Remains

Fresh particulars have surfaced about the untimely deaths of esteemed director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their Los Angeles home property on Sunday.

The Initial Report

A source indicates quoting a confidential source, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the home. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

Upon entering the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then left the home distraught, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Another individual who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Afterward, paramedics found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, including the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is now detained and is ineligible for bail.

Correcting the Record

The confidential informant questioned several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that time.

Additionally pushed back against circulated claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement includes descriptions of alleged "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that reports of a "blow-up" between the two were untrue.

Investigation Timeline

Per law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some media reports suggested the condition of their bodies implied they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the scene. He was due to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
